RE: Creating/Editing Faculty Profiles
February 14, 2024
Dear department chairs,
I hope your week is going well and that you're looking forward to another long weekend!
Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with editing/creating faculty profiles on the website. I'm happy to say we can move forward!
Giving a faculty member permission to edit an existing profile or create a new profile requires two steps: first by the faculty member and then by the web team. To ensure that we can support this and avoid a surge of requests all at once, we'll proceed systematically, department by department, according to this expected timeline:
- March 2024 Africana Studies - Gender Studies
- April 2024 History - Modern Languages & Literatures
- May 2024 Philosophy - Sustainability
At the beginning of each month, we'll email detailed instructions to the relevant department chairs that they can forward to their faculty members.
Please share this plan with your faculty members if you think it would be helpful, and send along any questions.
Best,
Kira

RE: Website Update: Site Search, Faculty Profiles & Links
Here are some updates about the John Jay website:
- Site search: Site search has not been working effectively and we are working on a fix. I apologize for the frustration this is causing.
- Faculty profiles: We hoped to be able to share details on how faculty members can update their profiles on the site much sooner. I apologize for the delay and we’ll share details as soon as we can. If you have an urgent edit please email Anh Phan and she’ll make the change(s).
- Broken links: If you experience a broken link, please let us know by emailing Anh Phan. If you’re a site editor, broken links are most likely because the page is unpublished or because the link points to the old site, which went offline on November 1, 2023. Please check the links on your pages to make sure they work.
Please send me your questions. Thank you!

Project Liaisons
Project liaisons organize reviewing the content on the pages “owned” by each unit/department, finalize what current content should stay the same, be updated or be deleted, capture what new content needs to be created, manage implementation, ensure deadlines are met and serve as a liaison between units/departments and the project team. Liaisons can organize this process in whatever way makes the most sense for their unit/department.
