Parents & family are important members of the College community! Find out how to get involved.
New Student Convocation is a formal induction into the college community hosted at the beginning of the fall semester. Our fall 2025 date is TBA. Check our website and your John Jay student email for updates.
Weeks of Welcome (WOW) happen at the beginning of the fall and spring semester to welcome you to John Jay and highlight student resources and activities. Some past events include Welcome Bash, brunch with Student Council, resource fair with various offices and departments, involvement fair with various student clubs and organizations, and more.
There are four student employment opportunities within the Office of Student Transition Programs that are both seasonal and for the academic year depending on availability. These opportunities will:
- Foster professional & personal development & encourage students to create leadership identities
- Develop students into stronger leaders who educate for justice on campus and beyond
At the end of the academic year, we honor graduates by hosting one commencement ceremony in the spring (typically end of May).
