Kuralay Zharmagambetova - Grants Manager

Kuralay Zharmagambetova joined the Office for the Advancement of Research in 2021. As Grants Manager, Kuralay is responsible for providing support in the fiscal administration of the college’s research portfolio and the development, analysis, and monitoring of the OAR operating budget. She coordinates a broad range of accounting and finance tasks and services with the goal of ensuring the college’s research operations are administered with the utmost integrity and transparency.

Before devoting her work full time to John Jay, Kuralay had an accounting experience in private industry. Her focus was on financial strategies that support the business including budgeting, tax planning, and forecasting. Kuralay holds a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Houston – Victoria.

  • Post award administration: account set up, forward funding/guarantee, budgets, closeout (wrap up of grant)

  • The web reports system (i.e. how to read your RF web report);
  • Using the Contract Manager system (i.e. Subawards, ICAs and MOUs)
