Program for Research Initiatives in Science & Math (PRISM)
PRISM is a nationally recognized program that leads the effort to engage underrepresented students in careers in science and math. Through hands-on training, close mentoring by a faculty member, participation in professional research conferences, and the opportunity to present and publish their work in front of a global audience, students participate in a distinct and exceptional experience that sets them on a path to a bright future in math and science.
Office for Student Research & Creativity (OSRC)
The OSRC serves as the college-wide program designed to fund, support, and recognize high-quality student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship in all disciplines, representing the diversity of John Jay College. The office promotes undergraduate and graduate research and creative projects by providing scholarship opportunities and other support for students and faculty.
Doctoral Program in Criminal Justice
The program focuses on developing and implementing innovative research methodologies for the study of criminal justice issues. It prepares students for careers of research, scholarship and teaching within various criminal justice disciplines.
Forensic Psychology Doctoral Program
This program creates and fosters research and learning opportunities in forensic psychology for qualified faculty and students. It encourages the application of psychological insights, concepts and skills to the understanding and functioning of the legal and criminal justice system. Our state-of-the-art Forensic Psychology Research Institute funds research undertaken by psychology faculty and graduate students so that they may acquire and enhance their research skills and capabilities.
Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program
Offered through the Department of Africana Studies, this program aims to promote graduate education, especially doctoral studies for first generation college students, low-income students and under-represented groups (African American, Hispanic, Native American and Pacific Islander).
Office of Fellowship & Scholarship Opportunities
The Office of Fellowship & Scholarship Opportunities enables John Jay students and alumni to explore available fellowship and scholarship opportunities for furthering their education. Through direct advisement sessions, interactive workshops, and informative presentations, we help students identify the right opportunities and assist them in the development of their application materials.
