Fanteca Project: Student-led study of opiates and overdose in NYC Seeks Funding

To address overdoses in NYC, it is important to know how many people are at risk, how many have had non-fatal overdoses in the recent past, and to identify what characteristics they share. Ric Curtis and his student research team will recruit and interview 300 opiate users over 6 successive weekends at a fixed location in the South Bronx in the Fall of 2017. It will also educate and train undergraduate students as future professionals in the fields of public health, public policy, and criminal justice.
