“For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to major in and work in the field of forensic science. That passion has only grown stronger through the research I’ve done with John Jay’s PRISM Undergraduate Research Program,” says, Alyssa Reynolds ’23. “At this year’s Research & Creativity Expo, my group partner, Justin Colón ’23, and I are presenting a comic book that teaches physics in a way that is less intimidating, easier to digest, and hopefully allows others to take a real interest in the subject. PRISM has played such a large role in my life. It’s given me the knowledge and critical thinking skills I need to be successful. The opportunity to work with Justin, along with my mentor, Dr. Daniel A. Martens Yaverbaum, and conducting and presenting research has made me realize that I have the ability to make an impact in science, and that what I have done and who I am matters within the STEM community.”
