Bio

Paola Romagnani is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Italian Language and Culture at CUNY. She teaches at John Jay College and has held semester appointments at Baruch College and Hunter College since 2017. She previously taught at NYU's Department of Italian Studies (2002-2012).

In 2002, she founded Simmia Productions, Inc., where she wrote, produced, and directed the feature film "My Mother's Fairy Tales" and several shorts showcased at international film festivals (Hamptons International Film Festival and Torino Film Festival, among them). Her production roles include working on "Split" by Deborah Kampmeier and "The Way I Remember It" starring Christine Ebersole.

Prof. Romagnani authored the monograph "Jim Jarmusch, una storia independente" (2002). She holds a Bachelor's in English Language and Literature and a Master's in Modern Languages and Literature (Film Studies) from IULM University, Milan.
