I received my BA in Social Science/Anthropology from New York University, my MA in History from Queens College, City University of New York and my MPhil in Early Modern European History from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York. I am presently finishing my dissertation on 17th-century Quakers. I have served as Vice President of Alpha Sigma Lambda, New York University. I have been teaching in the History Department at John Jay since 1994. My principal area of interest is 17th-century England, especially radical religion and politics. I am especially interested in the Quakers and other radical religious sects that emerged during the English Civil Wars and Interregnum.
