Dr. Daniel Stageman - Director of Research Operations

Daniel Stageman is Director of Research, encompassing research operations, research development, and research communications. Daniel joined the Office for the Advancement of Research in 2010 and holds a PhD in criminal justice from the CUNY Graduate Center. His academic work examines political economy and profit in American immigrant detention, and the economics of Federal-local immigration enforcement partnerships. He has written on a wide variety of topics including immigrants and crime, immigrant mental health, civilian oversight of policing and police reform. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in John Jay’s Sociology and Criminal Justice Departments when his schedule permits.

Daniel is responsible for all programming designed to enhance and support faculty scholarship, including internal funding, awards, events, professional development, promotions, social media communications, data collection, data analysis, data reporting, and dissemination.
