Investigative Internship - Office of the Appellate Defender, Reinvestigation Project
Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity! The Office of the Appellate Defenders are pleased to offer an investigative internship that will provide talented and committed students with the opportunity to spend a semester learning the fundamentals behind investigation as well as gain significant experience in the field of criminal defense. They are seeking a candidate with a strong attention to detail, highly organized, self-motivated, as well as proficient writing and verbal skills. All students (Including international and non-US Citizens) are more than welcome to apply to the internship as there are no restrictions. Applicants should hold a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, and selected interns will be expected to commit 7 hours a week to the internship site. Interns will be granted the chance to attend office trainings that are held at the internship site. Additionally, applications should have had previous coursework that coincides with criminal procedure and evidence in order to be considered.

Investigative Internship - The Legal Aid Society
The Summer 2024 Investigator Internship Program begins on June 3, 2024, and runs until August 9, 2024. The internship is an unpaid, full-time, in-person, intensive, hands-on program. Interns carry their own caseloads and partner up with other interns for field investigations throughout New York City. The internship begins with mandatory trainings in Criminal Defenses, Interviewing Techniques, Constitutional Law, Ethics for Investigations, Memorializing Interviews, Social Media Research, Discovery Reform, Investigative Techniques, and much more. Internship spots are available in The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island Trial Offices, the Homicide Defense Task Force Unit (HDTF), the Wrongful Conviction Unit (WCU), and the Parole Revocation Defense Unit (PRDU). These positions require considerable initiative, resourcefulness, creativity, drive, and a strong commitment to criminal defense work.

Honors Internship Program - The FBI
The FBI Honors Internship Program is a full-time, 10-week paid summer internship will occur from June 2, 2025 to August 8, 2025. This program is for undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral college students and offers exposure to the world’s premiere law enforcement and intelligence agency while also serving as a pipeline for entry-level positions after graduation. While exploring the FBI’s exciting career options, students will work side-by-side with FBI employees at one of our FBI offices nationwide. This internship offers students an unmatched opportunity to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution of the United States. At the end of their summer, Honors Interns who receive a positive evaluation may continue in the program throughout the school year.

Department of Investigation Internship Program - Summer 2024
The Department of Investigation is now accepting applications for the Summer 2024 session of its internship program. This internship opportunity provides students with practical learning opportunities for college, law school, and graduate students, offering three sessions annually: Spring, Summer, and Fall, lasting 9 to 12 weeks with up to 35 hours per week. Accepted interns will be allowed to participate in brown bag lunches that will feature law enforcement and city government based field trips. Applications are open from February 12th to April 12th, 2024. Required materials include a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and a transcript. Trial Preparation Assistant for the Bronx DA

Crime Analyst Position
As a Crime Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting complex research and analysis of crime and criminal activity data. Utilizing state-of-the-art database applications, spreadsheet tools, and Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping technology, you will identify patterns in criminal activity. Through spatial analysis techniques, you will produce thematic overlays and conduct demographic analysis to gain insights into crime trends. Additionally, you will use qualitative and quantitative analytical tools to assist the agency in designing tactical and operational initiatives. Your role will also involve determining the appropriate allocation of personnel and other critical agency resources for crime prevention efforts. In the absence of the immediate supervisor, Crime Analysts may be required to perform the duties of that position. All Crime Analysts are expected to perform related work. William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship
Through the William D. Clarke, Sr. Diplomatic Security Fellowship, you will embark on a career path that will take you around the world, providing protection to U.S. personnel, facilities, and information, while supporting diplomacy and making a difference in the world.
Funded by the U.S. Department of State, the Clarke DS Fellowship is a two-year graduate fellowship program designed for individuals who want to pursue a master’s degree and a career as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Special Agent in the Foreign Service. DSS Special Agents are sworn federal law enforcement officers.
As one of several high-profile State Department diversity recruitment programs, the Clarke DS Fellowship strives to attract the best candidates to the Foreign Service that reflect the diversity of the United States. Based on the fundamental principle that diversity is a strength in our diplomatic efforts, the Clarke DS Fellowship program values varied backgrounds, including ethnic, racial, gender, and geographic diversity. Members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, women, and individuals with financial need are encouraged to apply.
This unique two-year fellowship prepares you to enter the Foreign Service as a DSS Special Agent by providing:
- Up to $42,000 annually for two years in academic funding for tuition, room and board, books, mandatory fees, and some travel expenses.
- Stipends, housing, and travel allowances for the two summer practicums with the Diplomatic Security Service: A domestic practicum in Washington, D.C., and an overseas practicum at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad.
- Personalized mentoring and professional development opportunities throughout the program.
Upon successful completion of the fellowship program and the State Department’s Foreign Service entry requirements, you will receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as a DSS Special Agent and launch a career at the forefront of law enforcement and international affairs.
**Now Accepting Applications for the 2025 Cohort**
The application for the 2025 cohort is open February 12, 2024, to April 29, 2024 (11:59 pm EDT). To be eligible to apply for the 2025 cohort, you must meet all the criteria below:
- Be a U.S. citizen.
- Be at least 19 years old and no older than 32 years old before the application deadline (except for preference-eligible veterans).
- Be planning to enter a two-year, full-time master’s degree program in fall 2025 at a U.S.-based accredited institution.
- Be on the timeline to graduate in spring 2027 with a master’s degree after attending four full-time semesters during your two years of the fellowship.
- Hold a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale at the time of application and maintain this GPA throughout the program.
As a finalist, you must:
- Take the Physical Readiness Test (PRT) as a baseline.
- Have a valid U.S. driver’s license.
