The SASP Transfer team at John Jay will be your resource to support your academic journey and connect you to the John Jay community. We provide structured support in our Transfer Transition Seminars for incoming students who need to complete their 300-level and 200-level general education requirements. Additionally, we have designed programs and events to help connect you to opportunities that will get you closer to your post-graduate goals. Transfer Summer Bridge is a 6-day hybrid experience for all newly enrolled transfer students that will connect you to resources and activities so you feel prepared for academic success in your first semester and beyond. In addition to daily blackboard activities that you can complete on your own schedule, transfer success specialists and peer success coaches host in person and virtual events to help prepare you for life at John Jay inside and outside of the classroom.

Transfer Student Speed Networking for Success is a high energy, fast-paced hour of networking where you’ll have the chance to meet with representatives from programs that connect you to scholarships, internships, graduate school opportunities, and more. Transfer Advantage is a weekly workshop series for a select group of transfer students to help you prepare for special academic and professional opportunities that you can apply for in the upcoming semester. You’ll get tips on resumes, cover letters, and interviews, and get connected to internship, research, scholarship, and other special opportunities. You'll also receive one-on-one guidance and support with applications. Offered 6 consecutive weeks starting in October through November. Click here to view Fall 2024 flyer.
Celebrate National Transfer Student Week with us the third week of October! If you are on campus, stop by our table in the Atrium and meet our transfer peer success coaches. We’ll be raffling off fun prizes and giveaways and hosting transfer-focused events during community hour. Click here to access the event calendar.

Plan Ahead, Get Ahead – Participate in this series of events (tabling, workshops, student panels, guest speakers, information sessions, etc.) to receive guidance on how to find and prepare for the opportunity that best suits your needs and strengths, learn about planning behaviors that increase your academic and professional prospects, and get connected to key resources as you plan for the spring term, summer, and upcoming year.
November and December
Re-Enrollment Campaign – Keep an eye on your email to receive step-by-step guidance and tips on registering for the correct classes in the following semester and staying on track for graduation. Emailed throughout the semester.
January

Majors & Minors is a series of events and activities on majors, minors, and certificate programs to determine the best path to achieving your post-graduate goals and maximize the experiences and opportunities offered by the John Jay academic programs.

July
Apply for Transfer Early Start if you are an incoming transfer student starting in the fall! This program allows you to get a head start on your degree requirements by taking a summer class at John Jay with tuition assistance. Selected students will take one course that meets during the five-week summer session 2 from a prescribed list of course options that fulfill one of their degree requirements. Students will participate in weekly academic support and student success workshops to maximize their success in the class, prepare for the upcoming semester, and connect with fellow transfer students, staff, and peer success coaches.
