Brightspace
To access Brightspace, use the same username and password as CUNYfirst. "D2L Brightspace is a comprehensive learning management system that is modern and easy to use for faculty, staff, and students. It offers capabilities to support teaching and learning across different modalities, supports growth in online learning, provides advanced analytics that contribute to student success, and lays a foundation for engaging learning experiences that facilitate Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) in online courses." The LMS will enable CUNY to support student learning in traditional and online courses and deliver engaging learning experiences using modern teaching and learning technology.

To obtain an unofficial copy of your transcript, please log in to your CUNYfirst account, select CUNYfirst Home, then Transcript and Verification.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of education records, to establish the right of students to inspect and review their educational records, and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate and misleading data through informal and formal hearings. The Act applies to all institutions that are recipients of federal aid administered by the Secretary of Education. Students who are currently enrolled or formerly enrolled, regardless of their age or financial dependency status, are protected under FERPA.
What does this mean to my students and me?
In accordance with FERPA, the College will disclose the academic and financial records of a student to a third party provided the College has written consent from the student on file. Your student will need to fill out this form for the College to release information to a third party, including parents. Without this form, parents CANNOT conduct College business on the student's behalf at ANY office.
