Smart Classroom Information Sheet
Each computer is installed with the Windows 7 operating system, the Microsoft Office Professional office productivity suite, Hummingbird, McAfee anti-virus software, essential plug-ins (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Reader, WinZip, QuickTime, etc.), as well as additional software programs.
Each computer has Internet access.
How to Operate the Equipment
*Please make sure the power-strip located on the bottom tray in the podium is turned ON before attempting to use the equipment.
Sound Equalizer
The sound equalizer has been preset to an agreeable volume level. If the sound needs to be adjusted, please identify the type of equalizer used in the classroom within the podium, and refer to the instructions directly below for sound adjustment.
Sound Amplifier (Volume Control) – Onkyo Amplifiers
If the sound needs to be adjusted, locate the 4-button volume control box mounted on the right inside panel of the ePodium. Please return the volume settings to the preset level once you are done using the amplifier.
Sound Amplifier (Volume Control) – Samson Amplifiers
If the sound needs to be adjusted, locate the volume knob on the left side of the amplifier and increase or decrease the sound to your satisfaction. Please return the volume settings to the preset level once you are done using the amplifier.
Video Projector
Use the Video Projector Remote Control to turn the projector on or off.
Turn the R/C switch, located on the side of the remote control, to on.
Point the remote control at the projector and press the Power button. It takes approximately 30 seconds for an image to appear.
To turn the projector off, point the remote control at the projector and press thePower button. You will be prompted to press the power button again.
Turn the R/C switch off.
Please Note: A video projector will automatically shut down if it becomes too hot. To avoid this please turn the projector off at the end of the class period to allow it to cool down.
Computer
You do not need to turn on the computer. Simply wiggle the mouse or tap the space bar and it will ”wake up”. When not in use, the computer defaults to standby to conserve power consumption.
DVD/VCR Player
·On the DVD/VCR player, Press the Power button.
To play a DVD, place the DVD in the DVD tray, the player will automatically begin to play the DVD.
·To play a VCR tape, insert the tape into the tape slot, the player will automatically begin to play the VHS tape.
Please note: A DVD can also be played using the CD/DVD drive of the computer.
