Report on Activities of the Office of Compliance & Diversity, Spring 2021 (PDF)

“Preventing and Addressing Harassment and Discrimination: A Report on Activities of the Office of Compliance & Diversity in Calendar Year 2019” is the first report of its kind at John Jay. This report, which will be produced annually, provides information about, and transparency on, the College’s efforts to prevent and address behaviors that may constitute harassment, including sexual misconduct, or discrimination under CUNY policies that were reported to the Office of Compliance & Diversity in the 2019 calendar year.

This report is another step in our climate review process to foster a more inclusive environment and to  identify trends and devise forward-thinking strategies to address the college’s climate issues. With this in mind, we will use this report as an educational tool to bring greater awareness to our community and encourage others to come forward to raise any concerns, ideas, or suggestions.

While this report focuses mostly on the CDO’s compliance-oriented activities, the CDO’s role goes beyond investigatory work to ensure compliance with CUNY policies, and now includes greater focus on proactive outreach, training, strategy, and collaboration with other John Jay offices and stakeholders. A description of these proactive activities is included on pages 3, 4, 12 and 18 of the report. For more information, please also visit the John Jay College Climate Review and the Office of Compliance and Diversity homepage.
