Values Statement

Honors at John Jay is a diverse and inclusive community of learners that is committed to equity, democracy, and dialogue. We value intellectual risk taking, knowledge, and resilience, and act with integrity, respect and compassion.

The Honors Advantage

We offer highly motivated and talented students two Honors opportunities. Both will help you develop academically, professionally, and socially through a community designed to nurture and support.

The John Jay College Honors Program admits students as they begin their college career as freshmen, as sophomores (30-45 completed credits), or as juniors (60-75 completed credits). Freshman entry entitles the student to $1,000 scholarship per semester, a MAC Notebook and access to the Cultural Passport. Sophomore and junior entries receive a MAC Notebook and access to the Cultural Passport, but do not receive the scholarship.

William E. Macaulay Honors College admits students as they begin their college career as freshmen. Macaulay Scholars receive a full four-year tuition scholarship*, a state-of-the-art laptop computer and an Opportunities Fund of $7,500, which can be used toward study abroad, internships and other academically enriching experiences. The Macaulay Cultural Passport provides students with special admission to New York City's historical landmarks and artistic and cultural institutions.

*Only applicable to New York State residents.
